Hemen & Nikita Get [Married]

I absolutely LOVE photographing Indian weddings… the color, culture and rituals just have so much meaning and depth that have endured throughout the centuries.  While traditional Western customs are seemingly understood, and some couples opt to not have them (such as the garter and bouquet), in Hindu ceremonies everything has a meaning… every step has a purpose.

Hemen and Nikita were such a joy to photograph!  I loved that they opted to do a first look so they could maximize the time spent with their family and friends.  Enjoy the images… and the color!!

The baraat…The ceremony…LOVE this shot! The rajaham… (sacrifice to the sacred fire)The mangalphera… they walk around the sacred fire 4 times, and according to Nikita who ever sits first becomes the “head” of the home… so much fun!The reception…
