Craig & Katie Get [Married] … and Featured!
I still couldn’t believe the email when it came through… My wedding had gotten picked up by who? The Knot… really!? I don’t think an image release had been signed quicker in the history of mankind. I’ve been scouring Harris Teeter for about a week now looking for the latest issue to appear with no luck, but thank God for the girls at The Knot… they are ON IT, and emailed me the tear sheets…
Craig and Katie’s wedding was the last wedding I photographed before Ian was born… 11 days later to be exact! So you can only imagine a 9 mo pregnant lady lugging equipment all over uptown! Thank God for my super second, Susan, and Haylie the wonder intern! Without their help I wouldn’t have made it.
Katie and Craig’s wedding was absolutely amazing. The touches of copper, green and charcoal was such an amazing palette that I literally just had to stand at the Founder’s Hall entrance with my mouth hanging open. Heather and Ashley with The Graceful Host had done an absolutely outstanding job.
Craig and Katie met at Bank of America on the very first day of their orientation/team building week. Craig was running behind and when he eventually found his way to the group Katie jokingly asked if he was “too cool” to sit with the finance majors… and well, the rest is history.
He proposed at Latta Park, which until they moved to NYC, was their weekend walkabout. They would grab bagels and coffee, and walk over the Latta to enjoy a nice quiet morning (and sometimes a game of croquet). That particular night they had decided to eat some leftovers on a blanket in their favorite spot in the park. Craig started unpacking the picnic basket, and sandwiched between the plates and cups was her ring box… and some champagne for after she said yes.
How amazing was her dress??
“Like a Wink and a Smile”Their favors were unbelievable… A favor themed from the States that brought them together… Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.I LOVE THIS SHOT!
Craig’s reacting at seeing his bride come down the aisle just melted me..
Ever the jokester…With Founder’s Hall having no ceiling to bounce light off of is why off camera flash is essential in that facility…
And of course Craig’s brother had to get the escalator train going… lol.
Huge thanks to the amazing team of vendors!!
